about the Software
QGAStation_GPU is a genetics analysis software optimized to run on GPUs (graphics processing units) on NVIDIA graphics cards. It was developed by Futao Zhang in MSRA as an intern with the help of his mentor Xu Yang. This software is foucsed on the speed and achieved more than 100 times speedup than the CPU version. The graphic user interface of version 2.0 was developed by Zhixiang Zhu and the one of version 1.0 was developed by Guobo Chen.
System Requirements
QGAStation_GPU requires that your system be equipped with a NVIDIA CUDA-compatible device. The NVIDIA drivers must be version 257.21 (or greater) for Windows systems.
Download
Version 2.1 (2010-10-29) ( This version can select GPU computing or CPU computing self-adaptively. )
How to run
First make sure your system has CUDA GPUs and the CUDA driver is successfully installed. Then unzip the downloaded software and click the executable file QGAStation.exe.
If you are encountered with error 14001 - This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect, you should install the VC library. For x64 systems, download vcredist_x64.exe. For x86 systems, download vcredist_x86.exe.
If you are encountered with Cuda error: the launch timed out and was terminated, you should disable the watchdog of Windows.
Supplement
In order to run on most of the CUDA GPUs, the released software was compiled with the parameter "GPU Architecture" as sm_11. If you wanna the release for your GPU architecture, pls be free to contact us.
